Status: Part-Time - approx. 24 hours per week

Shift: Days (8am - 6pm)

The Child Care Teacher supports our mission and values by managing the daily care, management and supervision of the classroom and children.

The Child Care Teacher's primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that all parent and child concerns are appropriately addressed.
  • Supervises children at all times.
  • Counsels children when social, academic or adjustment issues arise.
  • Plans, develops and prepares instructional aids/materials for classroom activities.
  • Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained.
  • Assists children with meal times and clean-up.
  • Completes all classroom paperwork, including but not limited to: daily reports, incident/accident reports, attendance records, monthly newsletter and tracking forms.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, center events and parent meetings.
  • Implements classroom lesson plans/program, organization and schedule.
  • Ensures that all classroom/outdoor equipment is in good working condition and is used/maintained properly
  • Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
  • Schedules and conducts one to two parent/teacher conferences per year.
  • Ensures that Request for Medication form is completed correctly, and that medication is given at the appropriate time and dosage according to manufacturer's directions or doctor's orders.

What do I need for this role?

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma, GED or completed courses in Early Childhood Education approved by Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services or the Ohio Board of Education.
  • At least one year experience in giving daily care to children attending an organized group program preferred.
  • Must have completed (or be scheduled/willing to complete) First Aid, Infant/Child/Adult CPR, Child Abuse and Communicable Disease courses and provide documentation.
